Karen is on her bike!

The Northern Rock Cyclone Challenge hits the streets this weekend (Sat 25^th June) and we are all wishing DEAL Group Director, Karen Langdon, well on her 33 mile journey. 

 

This is the latest challenge in a year-long fundraising effort with her birthday twin, Ken Bradshaw, to raise £2,500 for Voluntary Service Overseas. Both Karen and Ken were volunteers in the 1990’s in Kenya and Guyana and are aware that many of the people they met then, may not be reaching their 50^th birthday, or if they do, will be doing so in even greater poverty. 

 

“It was a shocking thought and impossible to ignore the disparity with our own lives”, reflected Karen. 

“The decision to do something was easy”, says Ken “so we are doing something every month to achieve our target.”
